Awareness Campaign Against Plastic Pollution
Where it started
Single-use plastic moves faster than most awareness campaigns can keep up with. In Delhi's wholesale and retail markets - some of the densest foot traffic in the country - plastic bags change hands thousands of times a day, and most shoppers never pause to think about where they end up. Posters and pamphlets rarely break through that kind of noise.
What Nature Bodies did
Badlaav - Hindi for "change" - was Nature Bodies' answer to that noise problem: don't compete with it, perform inside it. Working jointly with the Centre for Environment Education (CEE), the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), HDFC Bank, and 21st Century Polymers, the team brought Nukkad Natak - traditional Indian street theatre - directly into the middle of Delhi's markets.
The performers are Nature Bodies' own trained youth theatre group, many of whom have been part of the eco club since they were students themselves. Over 29 shows at Sarojini Market, Khanna Market, the Charkha Museum, and Connaught Place, they staged short, physical, funny, and pointed performances about plastic pollution - stopping shoppers mid-errand, pulling crowds in within a minute, and leaving them with one clear ask: choose cloth, refuse plastic.
The campaign was built and delivered with CEE's Mr. Prabhjot Sodhi and Mr. Rohit Maskara, combining Nature Bodies' performance capacity with CEE's environmental education network and NDMC's on-ground market access.

What remains
Plastic pollution in Delhi's markets is a daily, ongoing pressure - Badlaav was a campaign, not a policy fix. A documentary covering the campaign exists but wasn't located in the archive available for this rebuild.
