Mission Simjung
Clean water for a village rebuilding after disaster
Where it started
The 2015 Gorkha earthquake devastated villages across Nepal, and Simjung, in Gorkha district itself, lost far more than buildings - including reliable access to safe drinking water at the moment it was needed most.
What Nature Bodies did
Nature Bodies' response was narrow and practical: rebuild access to one of the few things a community cannot go without. The team installed ten solar-powered UV drum water purifiers directly in Simjung village, choosing a technology that needed no grid power in a place where the grid itself was among the first casualties of the disaster.
It remains one of the organisation's few international interventions, and one of its most direct - a small, specific fix delivered to a community with an urgent, specific need.
