Student's Farm
One acre, one growing season, chemical-free
Where it started
COVID-era disruption to food supply chains made food security a suddenly immediate concern, and gave Nature Bodies' composting work - until then a standalone activity - an obvious next application.
What Nature Bodies did
On a one-acre plot in Pondhi village, Bilaspur, students ran a full growing season of brinjal, spinach, coriander, and cowpea, tracked week by week over six weeks and fed by compost the group had been producing separately - around 60kg over two months using a dry-leaf composting method.
The harvest came to more than a quintal (100kg+) of chemical-free produce, grown and documented by the students themselves as both a food-security response and a hands-on lesson in closing the loop between waste and food.
Key activities
